Autologous blood therapy is available through your physician upon request. Unfortunately autologous blood therapy is not reimbursable by Medicare or Medicaid. Some private insurance groups have negotiated with providers and are willing to pay for autologous blood therapy related to the benefits. By The Blood, Inc. continues to seek such opportunities and relationships with insurance companies to provide autologous blood therapy to all that desire it. In the mean time By The Blood, Inc. continues to provide autologous blood therapy at an affordable rate for those that have to pay out of pocket. By The Blood, Inc.'s desire and mission is for the consumer/patient to have the ability to be informed that this a treatment option that is available to you. By The Blood, Inc. feels that knowledge is power and by educating the consumer/patient you can decide for your self if it is worth the cost of service. Most physicians do not offer autologous blood therapy to their patients related to lack of knowledge regarding new biotechnology and the benefits of autologous blood therapy or to reinburstment issues even though they have the knowledge and believe in the benefits. It becomes awkward for them to ask a patient to pay out of pocket for a medical service that is not considered standard of care at this time. By The Blood, Inc. tries to bring knowledge, need, and desire together to make this service possible for the consumer/patient. By The Blood, Inc. (BTB) will travel within 100 miles of Arkadelphia, AR at no additional charge. Outside of 100 miles BTB charges $.60 a mile or air fare and accommodations, whichever is cheaper. Service provided by By The Blood, Inc. is machine, anticoagulant, thrombin, and disposibles to perform application, documentation of application, progress of wound healing, and two follow up home visits post application by a BSN, RN. By The Blood, Inc. has performed follow up wound care for diabetic foot ulcers and stasis ulcers upon request by family and physicians with financial reinburstment arrangements negotiable at that time regarding time, travel, and complication of wound. By The Blood, Inc. has established many working relationships with local physicians in the Hot Springs, AR area but is willing to work with new physicians upon request by them or their patients.
